Who or what is a Vadderik?
The name
Old Flemmish for sluggard or lazybones.
Look out onto the Veemarkt. That’s Neptune, too lazy to bend down for the bread at his feet. Mechelaars have called him ‘De Vadderik’ for centuries. We borrowed the name for a less lazy reason: distinctly Mechelen, since the 18th century, and impossible to forget. A bit like a good event.
The space
Vadderik is housed in a former industrial building at Veemarkt 5, Mechelen, with exposed brick, natural light, and room to think differently. Whether you're running a strategy day for 10 or a full company celebration for 80, the space adapts to you.
